Hello and welcome to Studio Yoga.  

Explore our many yoga classes including slow flow, vinyasa, yin, meditation and combo classes, incredible yoga teachers, nourishing yoga retreats and inspiring workshops.

You will find Studio Yoga centrally located in the vibrant suburb of Heidelberg, right opposite Warringal Shopping Centre in bustling Burgundy Street where there is easy access to plenty of parking .

 

Our beautiful Moroccan inspired Yoga studio provides the best Yoga in the north and north eastern suburbs. Yoga lovers and new students living in Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Rosanna, Macleod, Greensborough, Alphington, Montmorency and Fairfield. Vinyasa
Our Classes
Yoga Plus+

Our Vinyasa classes are suitable for students looking to experience a more challenging dynamic practice. In these classes we synchronise movement and breath in a continuous flow of yoga postures, usually beginning with Sun Salutations. These classes are energetic, creative and lots of fun. This is a great class to help you move deeper into your practice by building power, strength and flexibility. We offer variations of postures to suit everybody to ensure that each student experiences the most from their individual practice.

 

Yoga Plus+ has been created by Studio Yoga for students looking to get their heart rate up and improve their cardio health. This class is a total body workout designed to tone every major muscle group by combining yoga postures with weights, cardio and plyometrics. Yoga Plus+ is a great compliment to your regular yoga practice.

 

A fitness based practice that incorporates hand weights and high-intensity cardio bursts for a maximum calorie burning effect to get your heart pumping and your blood flowing. The hand weights add a new challenge to traditional yoga classes, and of course, there’s always a challenging core workout mixed in!

Yin 

Our Yin Yoga classes are a slow paced and meditative style of yoga. Postures are held for longer periods of time with a focus on calming floor based postures. Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissue (ligaments, tendons and fascia) to help increase flexibility, improve joint health as it creates a feeling of space in your body. You will leave class feeling a wonderful sense of freedom! These classes are suitable for all students and are a perfect compliment to our more ‘yang’ vinyasa flow classes, more rigorous excercise regimes and our busy lives.

 

Yoga Fundamentals

Our Yoga Fundamentals class is a fluid practice where we break down the basics of the key postures of yoga, our skilled and experienced teacher provides you with a safe, sustainable foundation to build on a well aligned practice. This class is geared towards beginners, returning students, people healing from injuries, and those seeking to deepen their knowledge and fine-tune their practice.

 

All Yogi's who join us for Yoga Fundamentals are invited to ask questions, the class is tailored to whoever is in the class, focusing on postural alignment for your unique body, level of health and fitness. You can join these classes at any time and repeat the classes as many times as you like so you can really get your confidence up!

Slow flow

Our Slow flow classes are slower and gentler than our Vinyasa classes. Postures are generally held for longer periods of time with fewer Sun Salutations and Vinyasa transitions between postures. The more gentle nature of this class is great for beginner students, it is also a beautiful balance to your practice if you are an intermediate or advanced student looking for increased flexibility, mobility and deeper relaxation.

 

Slow flow + Yin

This thoughtful combination brings together the active, flowing slow flow practice with the truly stunning mindful quiet  practice of Yin. Slow flow focuses on postural alignment, strength and endurance to allow you to gain confidence in your practice. This is then dovetailed into a Yin practice which is designed to release tension in body and mind by applying long, deep and passive postures. With this beautiful combination you are encouraged to turn your attention inward and turn your practice into a moving meditation. Slow flow + Yin includes meditation and Pranayama (breathwork) practices and is suitable for beginners and all levels.

Yin + Meditation

This thoughtful combination brings together the truly stunning Yin practice designed to release tension in the body and mind by practicing long, deep and passive postures with the stillness and focus of a seated meditation practice. Yin + Meditation classes are the perfect and essential balance to our very active lifestyles (Yang) and serves to help re-balance the body's energy and calm the mind. It is accessible to anyone of any age regardless of yoga experience. Suitable for beginners and all levels  

 

Yoga Buds
Kiddies Yoga

Yoga Buds Kiddies Yoga is the highlight of our little Yogi's weeks. Parents boast about how their little ones bounce out of bed on Thursday mornings with a spring in their step in anticipation of their afternoon Yoga class at Studio Yoga.

 

Using games, play, art and imagination we guide our little Yogis through poses, teach them how to self regulate their emotions by breathing consciously. Kiddies who do yoga with us have healthy minds, cultivate confidence and self esteem, develop concentration and attention, learn how to respond to stressful situations, relax and sleep better, have healthy attitudes, loving and accepting themselves and others and learn skills to develop strong, flexible & healthy bodies. Suitable for children 5 - 11 years.

Teen Yoga

Studio Yoga’s Teen Yoga is designed to make a difference and have a lasting impact, while at the same time cultivating skills to deal with the real concerns our young people are dealing with in today’s society. Most importantly Studio Yoga has them learn invaluable skills that set the groundwork for facing new challenges and growing strong physically, mentally, emotionally and cultivating self-esteem for life.

Squizzle Toddler Yoga

Squizzle Yoga has been created to tap into that joyful, abundant energy of budding little yogis between the ages of 1 to 4 years old.  Studio Yoga provides a safe learning environment with some structure, to fuel the insatiable curiosity they have in themselves, others and life during these formative, vibrant (and sometimes, tiring) early years.

Using Yoga poses, music, games and heart centered mindfulness along with breath awareness, Studio Yoga is all about harnessing your little yogi's creativity, helping them with their language development, learning about their emotions and cultivating who they want to be in the world!

Studio Yoga creates an environment where little yogis will start to develop their independence and realise their own abilities through engaging and exciting content in each class.

Parents are asked to participate in the classes, after all, it’s not fair if the kids have all the fun and squizzle!

 

*All Studio Yoga classes run for 60 minutes, except both Saturday Vinyasa classes and Sunday's Slow flow and Vinyasa classes, which run for 75 minutes. Bookings are  not required, we do recommend arriving 10 minutes early to get yourself set up.

Kiddies Yoga and Teen Yoga classes run during terms only.

If you're new to Studio Yoga your 28 days of unlimited Yoga starts from your first class not from the date of your purchase.
There is no need to book for class, just arrive 10 minutes early to complete our health and registration form. 
Classes for everyone
All of our classes are suitable for beginner students. Our teachers are experienced in offering modifications whether you are a beginner student or have an injury. Advanced variations are also offered for more experienced yogis. However, we find that most students that are new to yoga prefer to start with our slow flow and yin classes, which are all slower paced than our power flow vinyasa classes.

Preparing for class
 
Drink plenty of water before class
Avoid eating heavy meals 2 hours before class
Wear light, fitted clothes
A small hand towel can come in handy 
Bring a yoga mat or hire one of ours for $1
